Anna Tsiola

Biography

  • Anna Tsiola holds a BA in English Language and Literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and an MSc in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Edinburgh, U.K. She is currently a graduate student of Linguistics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a special interest in Second Language Acquisition. Anna has also worked as an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher in Greece, Hong Kong and Singapore and has teaching experience with language learners of different age, language level and ethnic backgrounds. Anna currently serves the Program in Modern Greek Studies as Teaching Assistant teaching language classes in Modern Greek at all levels (elementary, intermediate and advanced) and producing course material to help the Program in Modern Greek Studies to introduce online teaching into its language courses. She is excited to promote her native language, i.e. Modern Greek, as a Second language for students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
