Current Projects

  • An experimental investigation of online and offline binding properties of Korean reflexives :This study investigates the online and offline interpretation of three Korean reflexives, caki, casin and caki-casin by heritage speakers of Korean whose dominant language is English.
  • Explicit and implicit knowledge of definiteness in the second language acquisition of English : This project compares accuracy in L1-Korean L2-English learners’ use of the English definite article in tasks targeting more explicit vs. more implicit knowledge. The study also examines whether the semantics of Korean demonstratives influences patterns of L2-English article use, at explicit and/or implicit levels.
  • Processing of Korean sentences by L2 learners: The purpose of this study is to examine whether second language learners of Korean can process Korean case markers when they read scrambled sentences (non-canonical word order sentences).
